What's your MyWy?

MyWy - Most of us would agree that we want to live purposeful lives - lives with meaning, where we contribute and feel fulfilled.

I recently heard a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that has given me pause: “The purpose of life is not to be HAPPY. It is to be USEFUL, to be HONORABLE, to be COMPASSIONATE, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”

If I want to have a purposeful life, how am I being useful, honorable, compassionate and make a difference? According to Gallup, my top five strengths are: Woo, Strategic, Ideation, Futuristic and Input. How can I USE my skills and abilities to help others be useful, honorable, compassionate and make a difference so that they too can have purposeful lives? My answer: I can remove obstacles that get in their way – My how: I can build relationships and connection with others to create trust (Woo). I can learn quickly and connect dots that seem disparate or irrelevant to build a story that supports the goal they are seeking (Input). I can then foresee potential consequences or outcomes as they lay out in the future (Futuristic) and brainstorm different solutions to achieve or avoid said outcomes (Ideation). I can think through growth avenues and opportunities to support and build upon the original goal – their why (Strategic).

When I look over the expand of my career, I smile. Unknowingly, I have been on a path to a purposeful life and that gives me a great sense of peace and fulfillment – I have been removing obstacles that get in others’ way so they can be USEFUL, HONORABLE, COMPASSIONATE and live life well- purposefully. Best yet, I look forward to continuing to doing so… Olga Piehler - MyWy.io Chief Igniter Officer (CIO)
